Piotr’s End of Year Blog

Another year is coming to a close and just like last year, we have a lot to celebrate.

Outlook Care was again shortlisted for a number of awards and, following the various gala dinners in November and December where winners were announced, I am very pleased to let you know our success:

  • Our learning disability supported living service in Dagenham, won the Putting People First/Personalisation category at the Great British Care Awards for embracing the ‘Putting People First’/Personalisation agenda and demonstrating an innovative approach to empowering people to have more control over the support they need in their lives.

  • Paul Towse and Dave Cook, our maintenance team at Foxburrow Grange care home were highly commended in the ‘Unsung Hero’ category at the prestigious Essex Care Sector Awards (otherwise known as ‘The Prospers’).  The ‘Unsung Hero’ category recognises the outstanding contribution made by Unsung Heroes, the people behind the scenes who work tirelessly, consistently demonstrating great dedication. They may not be as publicly recognised as others but greatly contribute to the smooth running of the service.

  • We were finalists in four other categories: Dementia Care (Foxburrow Grange); Best Carer (Mercy Odipe – at two separate awarding bodies) and Leading Change Adding Value for Compassion (Learning Disability service in Dagenham).

A fantastic achievement.  Congratulations to all our winners and finalists!

In addition to our awards success, Outlook Care has turned 30 this year!  A fabulous milestone which we celebrated by holding a party for people we support and our staff.

We’ve also recently published our Trustee Report for 2018-2019, outlining our operational performance, governance and structure, and our financial information.

We also continue to be rated at least Good in all of our services.

It’s been another great year for Outlook Care.

As last year, our services will be holding Christmas parties and events to enjoy the festivities and I hope they are enjoyed by all.

Our amazing staff will, as always, be working hard over the Christmas and New Year period to ensure those we support have a fabulous time and the Board of Trustees at Outlook Care and I would like to thank all our staff for their hard work and dedication this year and in particular to those who are working over the festive period.

I would like to wish you and your families a very Happy Christmas and a healthy and peaceful New Year.

All the very best.
