Bringing Families Together
Bringing families together is something we love to do, especially after the very difficult last couple of years of restricted visiting due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
Not being able to see family members in real life has been really hard for so many of our customers.
Virtual visits, although welcomed during Covid-19, cannot compare to in-person visits and we were delighted when restrictions eased and we were able to facilitate family reunions. None more so than three sisters who came together recently.
Barbara and Linda, twin sisters, live in one of our supported living Services in the London Borough of Havering for people with learning disabilities. They hadn’t seen their other sister in two and a half years and it had been a difficult time for them all.
Team members of the Service arranged a lovely get together, following all guidelines at the time, to ensure a wonderful and emotional meet up.
There were smiles on everyone’s faces and some tears of happiness too. The sister visiting said it had made her day. Tissues all round!
