CQC Rating Good with Outstanding for Effectiveness
We are delighted to announce that, the Care Quality Commission (CQC) has rated the effectiveness of our domiciliary services across London and Essex as ‘Outstanding’.
We provide domiciliary services to around 150 people with learning disabilities in supported living schemes.
Our Chief Executive, Piotr Rejek said the team was thrilled by the news, “To receive an Outstanding rating for effectiveness is a fantastic achievement and I, along with everyone else at Outlook Care, are delighted.
“It is also fabulous news for the people we support and their families, as it demonstrates the level of quality of the care and support we provide, that ultimately leads to higher outcomes for our customers and enables them to live lives where they feel valued, included and empowered.
“The services covered by this inspection are diverse, located in every region we serve and rely on centrally managed processes, therefore, to achieve such a wonderful CQC report is brilliant for staff across the organisation,” he said.
According to the CQC report, inspectors stated, ‘We were assured by the provider’s commitment to promote exceptional care. In particular, we found the service was outstandingly effective, which provided a good foundation to achieve a consistent standard of care.’
The report said, ‘The service applied the principles and values of Registering the Right Support and other best practice guidance. These ensure that people who use the service can live as full a life as possible and achieve the best possible outcomes that include control, choice and independence. People’s support focused on them having as many opportunities as possible for them to gain new skills and become more independent.’
It continued, ‘People were supported to have maximum choice and control of their lives and staff supported them in the least restrictive way possible and in their best interests; the policies and systems in the service supported this practice. Technology was used creatively to minimise restrictions and improve people’s quality of life.’
‘Care and support was tailored around people’s needs, adapting flexibly when their needs changed. Staff supported people to develop their interests and keep in touch with their local community, families and friends. There were arrangements in place to meet the needs of people who required end of life care.’
The CQC inspection, which took place in February this year, looked at five areas of the organisation’s service provision. In addition to effectiveness these were safety, leadership, care and responsiveness. For the remaining four areas, Outlook Care was awarded a ‘good’ rating.
