Scarecrow competition – lockdown activities
Outlook Care customers and staff have shown their creative side after taking part in a first ever scarecrow competition.
The crows did not stand a chance in Essex and across east London this June, as seven fantastic figures began popping up across gardens in sunny Southend, Dagenham, Leytonstone and Greenwich for the Outlook Care Scarecrow Competition.
Senior judge Mr Cowell (AKA Matthew Cowperthwaite) said: “I’ve never seen anything like this during my 19 years working for Outlook Care, an exciting activity to do during lockdown and a fantastic effort to all seven entries for the first time of doing it”.
Matthew said, “I really enjoyed viewing the seven different scarecrows, it was a shame I was not able to walk around and visit them to introduce myself personally”.
He added, “They were all really creative and definitely captured the hearts of all our customers’ imaginations”.
He continued, “All of our scarecrow makers went to a lot of effort but a few were my favourites. As the best dressed Outlook Care worker, I thought they were all extra special!”
The top seven winners are, in no particular order were:
- WINNER! Mr Covid from Gardiners
- WINNER! Corona Dude from Ford
- WINNER! Scary Mary from Kemsing
- WINNER! Ragamuffin the Bird Scarer from Cann Hall
